"Playhouse" was written and performed as a part of a University dissertation. In this play methods of "Theatre of Cruelty" by A.Artaud were employed. Exploring the effectiveness of shocking the audience through intense characters and gestures, props that were handled in unusual ways and set design that grew eerie with the story. It was designed to break the barriers between the performers and the audience. The story follows a girl becoming of age and falling to the pressures of societal expectations. It explores themes of physical violence, emotional manipulation and physical mutilation.
